Learn when to pause and think instead of just sending whatever AI gives you.

The big idea
AI works really fast. Sometimes that speed is great, but sometimes you need to slow down. Pausing helps you catch mistakes and decide if the answer is actually what you wanted.
Some examples
Read the AI's answer all the way through before copying it.
Ask yourself, 'Does this make sense for what I needed?'
If something feels off, stop and ask AI to try again.
Show a grown-up if you are not sure about an answer.
Try it!
Next time AI gives you an answer, count to five before you do anything with it. Read it carefully. Then decide if you want to use it.

Why is it important to read through an AI's entire answer before using it?
So you can copy it faster into your document
Because the AI might have made a mistake that you need to catch
Because the AI will get upset if you don't
So you can count how many words it wrote
Marcus used an AI to help write a story. The AI gave him a paragraph, but something felt strange about it. What should Marcus do next?
Ask the AI to try again with different instructions
Show it to a grown-up right away without reading it himself
Delete it and never use AI again
Use it anyway because AI is usually correct
What does the pause button idea teach you to do right after AI gives you an answer?
Send it to all your friends immediately
Count to five and then carefully read it
Delete it and type your own answer
Ask AI if it is sure
Jamal asked AI for facts about dolphins for a school project. The AI gave him a long paragraph. Before using any of it, what should Jamal do?
Assume it's all correct because AI knows a lot
Read the whole thing carefully and check if it makes sense
Ask the AI to summarize it into one sentence
Copy the first sentence since that part is probably right
What is the main reason the lesson says you should pause before using an AI answer?
To make AI work faster next time
To give yourself time to get bored
To annoy the AI so it tries harder
To catch mistakes and decide if the answer is actually what you wanted

Guess and hope it's right
Use only half of it
Aisha asked an AI to write a birthday card for her mom. The AI wrote something, but Aisha thought it sounded weird. What should she do?
Tell her mom the AI wrote it so it's not her fault if it's weird
Assume the AI knows better than her
Use it anyway because she asked for help
Ask the AI to try again with different instructions
Why does the lesson say AI works 'really fast'?
Because AI uses special engines like a car
Because AI needs to charge its battery
Because AI only works during the day
Because AI can generate answers in seconds
Lucas copied an AI answer without reading it first and turned it in for homework. His teacher marked it wrong because there was an error. What could Lucas have done differently?
