Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 30, 2026. Last reviewed: May 2026.
Tendril is built to provide free AI literacy education without ad-tech, pay-to-rank recommendations, or selling learner data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how families, schools, libraries, and learners can ask questions or request deletion.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, sign-in method, role, and basic account settings.
- Learning information: lesson progress, quiz completions, bookmarks, preferences, certificates, and dashboard settings.
- School and library information: organization name, verified role, invite source, and admin-created account status when an institution sets up managed access.
- Support and feedback: messages you send through feedback, support, sponsor, or partner forms, including contact information you choose to provide.
- Operational logs: standard hosting, security, and error logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.
Information we do not sell or use for ads
- We do not sell learner data.
- We do not run behavioral advertising.
- We do not use paid sponsorships to secretly change search ranking, lesson recommendations, or model comparisons.
- We do not give sponsors access to learner-level data.
- We do not ask learners to place sensitive personal information into lessons, notes, or prompts.
How we use information
- To create and secure accounts.
- To save progress, preferences, bookmarks, certificates, and dashboards.
- To recommend lessons based on learner goals and completed work.
- To support school, library, and organization workflows when those roles are verified.
- To respond to support, privacy, accessibility, partnership, and feedback requests.
- To monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the service.
Service providers and sub-processors
Tendril uses the following trusted sub-processors to host and operate the product. Each may process information only as needed to operate Tendril and support the purposes described in this policy. A current Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request for organizations.
| Sub-processor | Purpose | Region |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI lesson generation, model comparison content | US |
| OpenAI (ChatGPT, Codex) | AI lesson generation, model comparison content | US |
| Google (Gemini) | AI lesson generation, model comparison content | US |

Learner prompts and personally identifiable information are not sent to AI providers as part of the lesson experience — AI providers see only the curriculum-generation prompts our editorial team writes. Material changes to this list will be reflected on this page; we aim for at least 30 days notice for changes affecting institutional customers.
Children, schools, and libraries
Tendril is designed to support learners of different ages and institution types. School and library access may include verified roles, invite links, roster setup, domain checks, or admin approval. We do not sell student data, use targeted advertising for minors, or give sponsors control over curriculum decisions.
Retention
Account and learning data are retained while an account is active so learners can keep their place. Operational logs are retained for up to 90 days for reliability and security purposes, then automatically purged. When deletion is requested, we will delete or de-identify account data within 30 days unless a legal, security, or institutional recordkeeping requirement requires a different timeline.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of account information by contacting us. Parents, guardians, schools, and libraries may also contact us about learner accounts they are authorized to manage.
Contact
For privacy questions, deletion requests, or account data requests, email hello@neural-forge.io. Please include the account email and enough context for us to locate the request.
This policy may be updated as Tendril adds new account, school, library, or partner features. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
