What to Do When AI Agents Get Confused or Quit
Sometimes AI agents stop in the middle of a task or do it badly. Here is how to recover without giving up on the work.

The big idea
AI agents are not perfect. Sometimes they get confused, give up, or just do half the job. Knowing how to recover saves you from re-doing everything.
Real examples
- AI gets confused mid-task. Try: 'You stopped at step 3. Continue from there.'
- AI gives a partial answer. Try: 'Finish the rest of this. Specifically, I still need X and Y.'
- AI gives a bad answer. Try: 'That is wrong because of X. Try again with that fixed.'
- AI keeps making the same mistake. Stop. Take over yourself for that part. AI is not always the right tool.
