Many schools use AI to monitor what students type, search, and browse on school devices. Some of this is for safety, some isn't, and you should know what's happening to you.
Some examples
- School laptops often log keystrokes, even outside school hours.
- AI flags certain words and alerts adults — sometimes wrongly.
- Personal device on personal Wi-Fi is usually private; school device usually isn't.
- You can ask for the school's surveillance policy in writing.
