The big idea
Good characters need a look, a name, and a 'thing' that makes them special. AI can suggest options. You pick what feels right.
Some examples
- Describe the look first: 'Tall, purple hair, wears one yellow boot'
- Ask AI for ten name options — keep two you like
- Add a 'fatal flaw' (afraid of pigeons) — AI is great at silly flaws
- Make AI sketch them five different ways and choose your favorite

Practice this safely
Try this with a low-stakes example and a trusted adult nearby. The goal is to notice how AI talks about character, not to let it make the decision for you.
- 1Ask AI to explain character in plain language, then underline anything that sounds uncertain or too broad.
- 2Give it one detail from "Design Your Own Character With AI" and ask for two possible next steps plus one reason each step might be wrong.
- 3Check design against a trusted source, teacher, adult, expert, or original document before you use it.
