Point the Camera, See the Price
Hold a phone up to a price tag and an app can read the numbers. That's an AI trick called reading text with a camera.
Then the app checks the same item in other stores. If it's cheaper somewhere else, it tells you. If this is already the best price, it gives a green check.
What it's good and not good at
- Good at reading clear, big numbers
- Not great with handwritten or smudged tags
- Sometimes shows old prices that have changed
Key terms in this lesson
The big idea: AI can read price tags fast and check other stores, but the real shelf price is what counts.
