Section 1
The big idea
AI can now clone a voice from just a few seconds of TikTok audio. Scammers use this to call grandparents and pretend to be a grandkid in trouble — 'I need bail money, don't tell mom.' Your job: warn grandparents and set up a code word.
Some examples
- Set a family code word ONLY shared in person — never in texts.
- Tell grandparents: 'If I ever call asking for money, hang up and call mom first.'
- Show them an example AI voice clone so they hear how real it sounds.
- Lock down your TikToks/Reels if voice clone risk worries you.
Try it!
Pick a family code word this week. Text it to your parents (not your grandparents — tell them in person).
