Section 1
The brief
You will create a 15-30 second finished piece combining at least TWO of: a generated image, a generated short video, a generated voice-over, and generated music. The topic is up to you. The final deliverable is a single video file plus a 200-word reflection.
Pick one of these starter concepts (or invent your own)
- A 20-second animated poem read in your own voice.
- A mock product ad for something silly (a vegetable that does taxes).
- A 'forgotten explorer's log' — narration + generated locations.
- A mini music video for an original 30-second song.
- An 'origin story' intro for a made-up superhero.
The workflow (do the steps in order)
- 1Write a one-paragraph concept. Cast, setting, vibe, final length.
- 2Storyboard 3-6 shots on paper or in Figma/Notion.
- 3Generate key images (Midjourney or Flux) for each shot.
- 4Animate the best images (Runway, Luma, or Kling) — short clips.
- 5Write the script or lyrics. Generate voice (ElevenLabs) or music (Suno / ElevenMusic).
- 6Assemble in DaVinci Resolve (free), CapCut, or iMovie.
- 7Export. Watch once end-to-end. Fix the worst part.
- 8Ship it. Post a C2PA disclosure badge or text label.

# SAMPLE CONCEPT BRIEF
TITLE: Potato Wants To Be A Chef
LENGTH: 20 seconds
VIBE: Whimsical, Pixar-adjacent, warm lighting
SHOTS:
1. Wide shot: kitchen at dawn, lone potato on counter (Midjourney --ar 16:9)
2. Close-up: potato 'looking' at a cookbook (Flux 1.1 Pro for realism)
3. Animated: potato sprouts tiny arms and opens cookbook (Runway Gen-4 with image-to-video)
4. Medium shot: potato chef's hat appears (Midjourney)
5. Animated: potato joyfully juliennes a carrot (Kling)
6. End card: 'Chef Potato, 2026' (Ideogram for text)
VOICE-OVER (ElevenLabs v3, my own cloned voice):
"Every potato has a dream. Some dreams are bigger than others."
MUSIC (Suno v5):
Playful orchestral cue, 20s, ukulele-driven, major key.Quality bar (honest self-check)
- Does the story make sense in the first watch?
- Is audio mixed so you can hear the voice clearly over music?
- Does any shot look obviously broken (wrong fingers, drifting faces)?
- Is the pacing tight? (Trim 10-20%.)
- Did you disclose AI origin in the end card or description?
The 200-word reflection
- 1Which tool surprised you (good or bad)?
- 2Where did you have to iterate the most?
- 3What was still faster to do by hand?
- 4What would you try next time?
- 5Did any ethical question come up — consent, copyright, disclosure?
Compare the options
| Rookie move | Pro move |
|---|---|
| Generate first, plan never. | Plan first, then generate toward the plan. |
| Use a single tool end-to-end. | Chain tools; use each one's strength. |
| Ship the first pass. | Watch end-to-end, cut the weakest 20%. |
| Skip the reflection. | Write the reflection — that's where learning lives. |
