Section 1
You don't have to learn alone
Almost every public library in the United States now offers free technology classes, and many cover AI specifically. They are taught by patient librarians who expect basic questions and treat them with respect.
Five places to start
- 1Your public library: ask the front desk for 'computer help' or 'AI basics' classes.
- 2Senior center: many run weekly tech tutor hours.
- 3Local community college: 'continuing education' or 'lifelong learning' divisions often have AI 101 classes.
- 4AARP: free webinars and a Senior Planet branded program.
- 5OASIS or SCORE: nationwide nonprofits with free or near-free tech learning.
Key terms in this lesson
The big idea: there is a person near you whose actual job is to help you learn this. Use them.
