Section 1
Three friendly helpers, three different styles
When you open an AI app, you are talking to a helper that lives inside a company's computer. The three biggest helpers most kids meet are Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. They can all answer questions, write stories, and explain things. But each one has its own personality, kind of like three friends at your lunch table.
Who made each helper?
- Claude was made by a company called Anthropic. Many people say Claude is especially polite and careful.
- ChatGPT was made by OpenAI. It is the oldest of the three and has the most fans.
- Gemini was made by Google. It lives right inside Gmail, Docs, and your Android phone if you have one.
What feels different when you use them?
All three can answer the same question. But the way they write back might feel a little different. Claude tends to be thoughtful and gentle. ChatGPT is breezy and fast. Gemini is good at looking stuff up on the internet because Google built the internet's biggest search engine.
A tiny friendly chart
- Need a kind, careful helper? Try Claude.
- Want the one most kids have heard of? Try ChatGPT.
- Working in Google Docs already? Gemini is right there.
“It is not that one AI is smarter. They have different personalities, like different teachers.”
The big idea: there is no single best AI helper. Meet a few of them, notice how they feel different, and pick the one that fits what you are trying to do today.
