The big idea
Doctors look at X-rays, scans, and lots of notes about patients. AI can quickly compare new pictures to thousands of older ones and say, 'Hey, look here!' But the doctor — a real human — always makes the final call about how to help the patient.
Some examples
- AI flags a tiny spot on an X-ray for the doctor to check.
- AI helps a nurse keep track of medicines for many patients.
- AI suggests questions to ask a patient.
- AI helps translate between a doctor and a family who speaks another language.
Try it!
Pretend you're a doctor. Draw a picture of a patient (a person, animal, or alien!). What would you want AI to help you spot?
