The big idea
Birthday parties, sleepovers, gaming nights — they need planning. AI is great at helping you plan: theme, invites, activities, snacks, schedule.
Some examples
- 'Plan a Minecraft-themed sleepover for 6 friends. Suggest activities, snacks, and a schedule.'
- 'Help me plan my 12th birthday at home. Budget $100. 8 friends. We love board games.'
- 'I want to throw a movie-watch party. Plan it from invites to snacks.'

How to do it well
Good event planning with AI follows a pattern. First, tell the AI exactly what you want and what you have to work with. Then read what it gives you carefully. If something looks off, ask it to fix that one thing. You are the boss — the AI is the helper.
A simple step-by-step
- 1Tell the AI the type of event, how many people, the budget, and any theme.
- 2Ask for a schedule with rough times — like 6:00 pizza, 7:00 game, 8:00 movie.
- 3Ask separately for snacks, then for activities, then for a packing or shopping list.
- 4Read it out loud and cross out anything that doesn't fit your group.
- 5Show your parent the final plan before buying anything.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Forgetting to say the budget — you might get ideas you can't afford.
- Not saying ages — a 12-year-old plan is very different from a 6-year-old plan.
- Trusting the activity timing without thinking about transitions and cleanup.
- Skipping the parent check before you start spending money.
Why this is a real skill
Real event planners get paid to do this for weddings and big company parties. Practicing now means you already know the basic moves: scope, schedule, budget, supply list, plan B for weather. Those four words show up in every real plan.
