Section 1
The big idea
Artists work hard on their drawings, music, and stories. Using AI to copy them and pretend it's yours isn't fair, even if it's easy.
Some examples
- Don't ask AI to make a 'painting in my favorite artist's style' and call it your own.
- Always say if you used AI to help.
- Try to make your own art too — it's more fun.
- Ask a parent or teacher when you're unsure.
Try it!
Make a drawing yourself, then ask an AI to remix it. Show both and tell which is which.
Why Artists Deserve Credit for Their Hard Work
Every piece of art — a painting, a song, a drawing, a story — took real time and effort from a real person. Artists practice for years to develop their unique style. When you use AI to copy someone's artistic style and present it as your own work, you're taking credit for their years of practice. This isn't just unfair — it also means you don't get to experience the challenge and satisfaction of creating something yourself. Copyright is the idea that creators own their work and have the right to decide how it's used. Even if AI makes copying easy, easy doesn't mean right. The honest path: use AI as a creative helper, always give credit, and keep making your own original work too.
- Artists work for years to develop their style — copying it with AI doesn't give you that skill
- Always say when AI helped you make something — hiding it is dishonest
- Copyright means creators own their work; using AI to copy it without credit is unfair
- You can use AI as a creative helper while still making your own original art

What to Do If Someone Uses AI to Copy YOUR Art
Section 3
The big idea
You spent hours on a drawing. Then someone runs it through AI to make 100 copies. That's not okay! Your art is yours, even when AI exists.
Some examples
- Someone screenshots your art, runs it through AI, posts the copy.
- You can ask the platform to take it down.
- Adding a watermark with your name helps prove it's yours.
- Tell a parent or teacher — they can help you fight back.
Try it!
Sign your next drawing in a corner with your initials. That's your watermark!
