The big idea
Sometimes friends push you to do things you know aren't right with AI, like making fake photos or messages. It's okay — and brave — to say no.
Some examples
- Say 'No, that's not cool' if someone wants to fake a friend's photo.
- Walk away if someone wants to use AI to bully.
- Tell a teacher if you saw mean AI use.
- Pick friends who care about being kind.
Try it!
Practice saying 'No, I don't want to' out loud one time today.
Why saying no is brave
Have you ever had a friend say, 'Come on, just do it — it'll be funny!'? That kind of push is called peer pressure. It happens in real life AND with technology. When a friend wants you to use AI to make a fake photo of someone, send a mean message, or pretend to be someone you're not, your stomach might feel funny. That uncomfortable feeling is actually your brain sending you a signal: something is wrong here. Saying 'no' when friends pressure you to misuse AI is one of the bravest things you can do. Real friends will respect your answer. And if they don't, that tells you something important about whether they're really looking out for you. You are in charge of your own choices — no AI tool or pushy friend can take that away.
- A friend dares you to use AI to fake a classmate's voice — you can say 'Nope, that's not cool with me.'
- Your group chat wants to make an AI joke about a kid in school — you can leave the chat or speak up.
- Someone says 'it's just a prank' about a fake AI photo — a prank that hurts isn't a prank.
- You stood up and said no — that's leadership, even if it feels awkward in the moment.
