Talking to Animals (Sort Of)
We do not have an animal translator yet. But scientists ARE using AI to study what animals say to each other. Whales, dolphins, prairie dogs, even bees — AI helps spot patterns in their sounds and signals.
What AI can do for animals
- Listen to thousands of bird songs and tell which bird is singing
- Watch wild animals on cameras and count how many there are
- Spot pets that look hurt by watching how they walk
- Help find lost dogs by matching face photos
What it cannot do
AI cannot tell you what your dog is thinking. It can guess if your dog is happy or scared by looking at it, but it does not read minds — animal or human.
