Don't Be Mean to AI — But Why?

AI isn't a person and won't cry if you're rude. But here's the thing: how you talk shapes who you become. If you practice being nasty to AI, that meanness might leak into how you talk to people.

Some examples

• Saying 'please' and 'thanks' to AI keeps your habits strong.
• Yelling at AI when it's wrong won't help (and isn't your best self).
• Be the same kind of you, even when no one's watching.
• AI doesn't care, but YOUR character does.

Practice this safely

Try this with a low-stakes example and a trusted adult nearby. The goal is to notice how AI talks about habits, not to let it make the decision for you.

1. 1Ask AI to explain habits in plain language, then underline anything that sounds uncertain or too broad.
