Don't Let AI Do Everything for You
AI can help — but you still need to learn, try, and grow yourself.

The big idea
AI is amazing, but if AI does ALL your thinking, drawing, writing, and choosing, your own skills won't grow. The best plan: use AI to help, but still do real stuff with your own hands and brain.
Some examples
- AI brainstorms ideas, but YOU pick your favorite and develop it.
- AI drafts a poem, but YOU rewrite it in your voice.
- AI suggests a plan, but YOU make the choices.
- Practice handwriting, drawing, and math without AI sometimes!
Try it!
Pick one thing today to do WITHOUT AI — even though AI could help. Notice the proud feeling!
Practice this safely
Try this with a low-stakes example and a trusted adult nearby. The goal is to notice how AI talks about growth, not to let it make the decision for you.
- 1Ask AI to explain growth in plain language, then underline anything that sounds uncertain or too broad.
- 2Give it one detail from "Don't Let AI Do Everything for You" and ask for two possible next steps plus one reason each step might be wrong.
- 3Check skills against a trusted source, teacher, adult, expert, or original document before you use it.
