The habits you build now shape who you become
Five years from now you will be a different version of yourself — older, more capable, with new opportunities and relationships. The habits you build today are shaping that future person right now. If you build the habit of always doing your own thinking before asking AI, future you will be a stronger thinker. If you build the habit of being kind online and helping others, future you will have a reputation for trustworthiness. If you build the habit of using AI to create and learn, future you will be ahead of people who never developed those skills. But habits go both ways. If you build the habit of outsourcing all your thinking to AI, future you will struggle when AI isn't available or when you need to explain your own reasoning. If you build a habit of using AI to be mean or avoid responsibility, future you may face consequences — at school, in relationships, and eventually in your career — that today seem far away but are actually just a few years out.
- Habits compound — small daily choices add up to big differences over 5 years
- Build AI habits that make you smarter, not dependent
- Your digital footprint and reputation start forming now, earlier than most kids realize
- Imagine what 5-year-you would think of today's choices
