The big idea
Some kids use AI to make fake images, mean messages, harassment. Way cooler kids use AI to help others — write better thank-you notes, plan parties, support friends, help grandparents.
Some examples
- Help a grandparent figure out a tech issue.
- Plan a surprise party for a friend.
- Write thoughtful birthday messages for everyone in your class.
- Help a sibling with homework when they are stuck.
Try it!
Use AI to help one specific person today. Notice how it feels. Notice their reaction.
Real ideas for using AI to help people around you
One of the best uses of AI is making it easier to do kind things for others that you might not have had time or words for before. When someone you know is going through something hard — a family member who is sick, a friend who didn't make the team, a grandparent who feels lonely — AI can help you find the right words to show you care. You can use AI to help write a meaningful birthday note for every person in your family instead of sending a generic one. You can use it to help plan a neighborhood cleanup event. You can use it to translate something for a classmate whose family speaks a different language. These aren't fake acts of kindness just because AI helped with the words — the intention and the action come from you. AI just removes the friction that sometimes stops us from doing something good.
- Use AI to write a specific, personal note to someone who helped you recently
- Use AI to translate a message for someone whose first language is different from yours
- Use AI to help plan a community project or a kind event for your class
- Use AI to help a younger sibling or friend understand something confusing
